he holds a PhD in Epidemiology (Vector Ecology) from the University of Basel, Switzerland, an MSc in Applied Zoology, and a BSc in Zoology and Wildlife Ecology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Dr. Bernadette J. Huho is an experienced researcher and program management professional with expertise in epidemiology, vector ecology, public health research, and development programs. She has extensive experience in designing and implementing research studies, surveillance systems, community engagement initiatives, and monitoring and evaluation activities across health programs.

She previously worked with the Ifakara Health Institute, where she led large-scale household surveillance systems, malaria vector monitoring studies, and research on malaria transmission and control. She has also supported program planning, coordination, reporting, and translation of technical reports for regional and international organizations working in malaria control and public health.

Dr. Huho has extensive experience in research protocol development, ethical review processes, project supervision, data quality assurance, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). She is also an accomplished author and contributor to several peer-reviewed scientific publications on malaria epidemiology and vector biology.
